Job Description

Collaborate with internal and external partners in managing a full and comprehensive clinical evaluation for tissue and eye donation opportunities. This role is essential for ensuring compliance with established guidelines, industry standards, and maximizing donation potential.

Requirements

Degree in nursing or a directly relevant field, or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting. Certification as EMT, Paramedic, or a directly related field. Respiratory Therapist or equivalent work experience. Certified Tissue Banking Specialist (CTBS) is preferred. Previous experience in the tissue or organ donation processes is desired. Skills and Abilities: Demonstrate ability to work with sensitive information and respond promptly while maintaining confidentiality. Proficient in reviewing medical information and communicating efficiently across multiple channels. Ability to navigate multiple software systems, programs, and communication tools effectively. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills to build rapport with diverse stakeholders. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Strong time management skills to effectively meet time-sensitive needs. Robust analytical and problem-solving skills to address challenges effectively. Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate responsibilities when appropriate. Capability to function effectively in a high-paced and occasionally stressful environment. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite or related software applications. Commitment to providing excellent customer service to a diverse audience. Physical and Technical Requirements: Requires the use of IDN-issued equipment and a physical Ethernet cable connection from the wall to the workstation. Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer. Must maintain availability for communication 24/7/365 to respond to urgent needs. Must receive required vaccines based on outlined schedules to protect our employees, healthcare personnel, donors, recipients, and families we may come into contact. Responsibilities

Manage the clinical evaluation of tissue and eye donors, ensuring adherence to established guidelines, standards, and protocols. Maintain communication and strong working relationships with internal and external partners to maximize donation opportunities. Serve as a resource within the organization, providing expert knowledge and guidance on eligibility criteria and processes related to tissue and eye donation. Actively participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of processes and work systems. Contribute to quality assurance efforts aimed at maintaining high standards in the clinical evaluation process. Support the donation process by triaging initial organ referrals for further evaluation. Perform other duties as assigned.
