EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Graduate from a CCNE or NLN accredited nursing program is strongly preferred. Graduate from an approved nursing program is acceptable. Two years of Behavioral Health nursing experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree preferred. CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, and/or REGISTRATIONS: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of South Dakota or meeting the enhanced Nursing Compact Licensure (eNLC) requirements is required. RN Licensure required within the states that eCare Behavioral Health is providing service within 120 days of hire. Attain certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing (PMHN) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) required within 1 year of employment and every 5 years thereafter. Membership in a professional organization preferred. Completion of Child & Dependent Adult Abuse for Iowa Mandatory Reporters course required for employees within 90 days of employment and every 3 years thereafter.
Provides evaluation for individuals of all ages and all ethnic groups who are suffering from an acute mental health crisis. Must have ability to work in an intense, stressful work environment where you must perform rapid assessments and have the ability to multi task. Applies specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills in the areas of assessment, and crisis intervention of mental, emotional and behavioral disorders, conditions and addictions, including severe mental illness in adults and seniors, severe emotional disturbances in children and adolescents, and acutely intoxicated or withdrawing individuals.
