Undergraduate (Associate or Bachelor) degree preferred Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Trauma Registry abstraction required. Health Information Management; Coding, and Nursing experience may be beneficial. CAISS credential through the Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine required within 12 months of hire CSTR, RHIT, RHIA, CCS, LVN or RN preferred
The Trauma Clinical Data Abstractor Lead is responsible for day-to-day operational activities as it relates to abstraction of data for trauma registry. What you will do in this role: Provides general workflow direction to abstraction staff. Assists Clinical Data Abstraction Manager in the review and improvement of processes and services Completes quality control monitoring and reporting of completed abstracts for accuracy and timeliness Responsible for reviewing medical records and following standards to abstract information according to various regulatory bodies and HCA Healthcare/Parallon. Assists in staff training and development. Completes edit checks and makes appropriate changes on a timely basis. Follow standards and HCA Healthcare/Parallon instructions to abstract all reportable cases. · Maintains or exceeds established productivity and quality standards Assist with case follow-up as requested. Attend educational activities as approved by Manager or Director. Maintain clinical knowledge of various abstracted measures. Communicate in a timely manner with manager to maintain compliance. Reports to the manager on team and individual work accomplishments, problems, progress in mastering tasks and processes. Resolve errors resulting in the rejection of records from the data entry system. Participates in required education.
