The Virtual Registered Nurse (VRN)plays a pivotal role as a collaborative care team leader, overseeing day-to-day operations and delivering virtual nursing care to a diverse adult population across various healthcare settings. They provide remote nursing services to patients in acute and sub-acute care, emergency departments, critical care environments, skilled nursing facilities, and even in the patients' homes. Working in partnership with clinical teams at the originating sites, the VCN serves as an expert nurse on the patient care team. They actively deliver patient care, translate evidence-based practices, offer patient and family education, and provide supervision, coaching, and mentoring to fellow nurses. Additionally, the VCN coordinates care across disciplines, collaborating with the originating site and other remote clinical team members.
5+ years of current experience in acute or critical care Critical and acute cardiac care experience 1+ years of leadership experience Implement nursing process, including assessments, care planning, and coordination based on evidence-based protocols Prioritize patient advocacy, proactive monitoring, and safe, efficient, patient-centered care Delegate and supervise support staff to ensure high-quality patient care Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in acute and/or critical care skills Strong understanding of telemetry monitoring, policies, and procedures Ability to think critically in diagnosing clinical problems and defining interventions Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Proficiency in computer documentation and navigation Education: Valid RN licensure Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing from an acceptable and recognized institution Bachelor’s degree preferred License/Certification: ACLS Certification (Required) BLS Certification (Preferred) Compact State RN Nurse License (RN License is required) (Required)
