As a Remote Nurse Triage professional, you will play a crucial role in providing accurate and timely medical advice to patients over the phone. This position is essential for ensuring that patients receive appropriate guidance and support, especially during emergencies or when seeking medical assistance after hours. Your role will involve assessing patient symptoms, providing medical advice, and coordinating necessary care, all while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and professionalism.
Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license, Must have State of Illinois License or willing to apply for promptly Must have Compact State Licensure or willing to apply for promptly Minimum of 2 years of experience in clinical nursing, preferably in an emergency or urgent care setting Proven experience in triage nursing or telephone triage Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare processes Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to assess and prioritize patient needs accurately and efficiently Proficient in using electronic medical records (EMR) and telephonic communication systems Critical thinking and decision-making abilities in high-pressure situations Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment Knowledge of and adherence to legal and ethical standards in telephonic medical advice Commitment to providing exceptional patient care and support Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays (specifically looking to fill the 12am - 8am shifts) Ability to multitask and manage telephonic nursing responsibilities effectively Willingness to undergo background checks and clearances for remote nursing practice Full-time w/ benefits (>32HRS/WK) and Part-time (@ min. 15 HRS/WK) positions available Skills: patient assessment,communication skills,medical terminology,triage,patient care,healthcare,critical thinking
Conduct telephonic assessments of patient symptoms and determine appropriate levels of care required Provide accurate and timely medical advice and guidance to patients based on established protocols and guidelines (guidelines follow nurse triage "gold standard" protocols of Schmidt/Thompson) Triage patient calls and prioritize medical needs effectively Document all patient interactions and assessments accurately and thoroughly Collaborate with healthcare providers, including physicians and emergency services, to coordinate patient care Adhere to legal and ethical standards in the provision of telephonic medical advice and care Utilize medical resources and databases to ensure accurate and up-to-date information for patient care Communicate effectively with patients to ensure understanding and compliance with medical advice and instructions Adapt to various telephonic medical scenarios and effectively manage patient concerns Participate in ongoing training and education to stay updated with medical protocols and best practices Maintain professionalism and empathy in all patient interactions Looking to fill position from the 12am - 8am shifts
